Comments: Equine Scholars has provided a good outlet for my
interest in the Equine world in college. I have met many new,
engaging people through the program who are interested in many
different avenues within the equine world. The program has also
opened me up to the business aspect of the equine world through
field trips.
Where is she now? Katie is attending Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Mo., where she will get a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology.

Comments: The Equine Scholars Program opened my
eyes to all the possible equine faceted careers. I was
fortunate enough to combine my passion with my profession. The
Equine Scholars Program and Georgetown College provided me with
excellent opportunities and helped me to succeed both
professionally and academically.

Where is she now? Angie is working at Holly Hill Children's Services as an Adolescent Treatment Worker. Holly Hill is a residential treatment facility for girls ages 10 to 17 who have severe emotional and behavioral problems. Angie continually evaluates the progress (or lack there of) of the residents and meets with the treatment team once a week to revise the their treatment plans. Angie also teaches the girls family living skills, helps them work through emotional and behavioral problems, and assists in preparing them for future placement. Angie is also in the process of applying to grad school for the fall of 2009; she hopes to go into Clinical Psychology.

gain the experience I needed to successfully start my own business.
I gained a well-rounded education about the horse industry and made

The program has exposed me to so many facets of the industry that I
never knew about! It has definitely expanded my knowledge of the
horse industry and has opened my eyes to all of the possibilities
that are available.
Where is she now? Building off her undergrad internship at CMT, Noel worked in the Nashville country music industry for one year. Noel now serves as the Director of Annual Investments for Special Kids, a Christian nonprofit organization that provides therapy and skilled nursing for children with special needs. I enjoy being a part of the Equine Scholars Program because
it gives me a chance to interact with all of the great underclassmen who
are helping to grow the program by a large amount this year. I also take
interest in learning how the equine industry works not only within the
sphere of Kentucky's economy, but also on an international scale.
Where is she now? Brittany was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and will be residing in Germany for one year to help teach English to German students.

Comments: It is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a
program that allows you the freedom of a liberal arts education paired
with the horse industry. The program is not riding based, so it gives
you the educational background needed to actually get a job in ALL
aspects of the horse business.
Where is she now? Ashley applied and was accepted to vet school, but decided to defer her enrollment for one year to gain more industry experience. Ashley is currently the Breeding manager at Bret and Suzi Day’s Gray Ridge Farm in Versailles, KY.
